The North Carolina Council for the Social Studies Needs You!
We want you… to consider running in the 2013 North Carolina Council for the Social Studies Elections!
In February 2013, members of the North Carolina Council for the Social Studies will elect three Board Directors, one President-Elect, and one Treasurer to guide the work of NCCSS. We need extraordinary social studies educators like you to help lead this professional organization. The typical commitment is 4-5 Saturday morning meetings per year. Travel expenses are set at the state rate. In addition to serving as an Executive Council member, the Secretary is responsible for recording and distributing minutes of the meetings as well as other matters of record. Board Directors serve the Council in the decision-making process as well as chairing Standing and Ad Hoc committees for the Council. Service on the Executive Council is very rewarding, challenging, stimulating, and on occasion, a lot of fun. Please indicate your interest by contacting Matthew Love (matt.love@clevelandechs.org) by October 31, 2012 in order to receive further instructions. Thanks for answering the call to serve.
