The North Carolina Council for Social Studies is seeking nominations for seats on the NCCSS Board of Directors (3) and NCCSS Secretary. If you’ve ever thought about getting involved with our organization on the state level, here’s your chance!

What are the office responsibilities?

Board of Directors (2 year term) – Guide the NCCSS and be a part of the decision-making process, Attend regular meetings as scheduled, Participate in committees, Assist with state NCCSS Conference in February

Secretary (2 year term) – Maintain meeting records for NCSS, Attend regular meetings as scheduled, Participate in committees, Assist with state NCCSS Conference in February

What are the requirements to hold office?

1. Be a member of both NCCSS and NCSS and maintain membership throughout term of office

2. Agree to attend the NCCSS state conference in February

What do I need to do in order to nominate myself or someone else?

Nominations are due by Monday, October 31. Email John Spicer at jspicer@caldwellschools.com with the name and contact information for the nominee. John will be in touch and will provide the necessary details.
